Dan began his career as a teenage apprentice at Sheffield City Council, where he was supported in earning an MSc in Human Resources Management from Sheffield Hallam University. He later joined Kier Group, where he worked for 11 years, advancing from Development Director to Operations Director for the East of England.
In 2016, he was appointed Managing Director of Arc Partnership, a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and SCAPE. In 2022, he also became the Managing Director of Via East Midlands.
