Shining a light at Christmas

Once the Christmas lights are on, the festive season can officially begin!

It was wonderful to support Nottinghamshire County Council’s celebrations for the second year running, by sponsoring and fitting the lights on the Christmas trees outside County Hall.

The official switch-on was carried out by Councillor Sue Saddington, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council and was musically accompanied by 25 pupils from Bleasby Primary School.

The pupils gave a fabulous festive performance with a selection of carols including Merry Christmas Bells, Away in a Manger and a special Christmas medley.

We were delighted to welcome Bleasby Primary School, it was a real treat to hear the children sing – it was a magical performance.
We also extend our thanks to our sponsors Veolia and The Arc Partnership for their support.

The children really enjoyed the hot chocolate (complete with cream and marshmallows of course!) and festive nibbles, which kept everyone warm throughout the ceremony. They also loved the surprise Christmas goodie bags we gave them as a thank you.

We’re really pleased to sponsor the Christmas tree lights, which can be enjoyed throughout the festive period. Merry Christmas everyone!

I’m so proud of the children, they’ve worked really hard to get the performance just right. It’s certainly got us all in the Christmas spirit!
