Building a Safer Future Charter

Our commitment to the Building A Safer Future Charter

As a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and SCAPE (a leading public procurement authority), we are proud to have become a Registered Signatory of the Building a Safer Future (BSF) initiative.

Designed to accelerate a cultural shift in the built environment, the BSF Charter helps to ensure that buildings are safe for those living and working in them and protects life by putting safety first, ahead of all other building priorities.

The BSF Charter comprises five commitments that demonstrate an industry committed to putting people’s safety first. This safety-first culture is core to our work at Arc Partnership and - whether we are consulting, designing, building, managing, or maintaining - we prioritise safety across all areas of our work.

Becoming a Registered Signatory of the BSF:

  • Demonstrates our real commitment to driving cultural change in building safety
  • Communicates a strong and positive statement of support for the vision of the Charter and it’s five commitments to the public, government, our clients, co-workers and supply chain as well as the industry as a whole
  • Demonstrates our collaboration through submitting and utilising the resources on the Learning and Excellence Hub
  • Continues our journey of learning and excellence in building safety

Safety is integral to everything we do at Arc Partnership, and we believe nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely. That's why we are proud to be a Registered Signatory on the BSF Charter and continue to promote a culture of safety first.

Additionally, our commitment to becoming a BSF Champion is an important step towards achieving the cultural and behavioural change required in relation to the Charter's objectives around building safety.

The Charter is focused on driving up standards, changing culture and behaviours and raising the bar in relation to building safety from design through to management and maintenance.

In confirming our support for the Charter, we will now be working to ensure that we continue to embed its principles into our organisation's activities.
