Basic Needs Programme
Ensuring that every child has access to a school place and modern facilities that offer a high-quality education is one of Nottinghamshire County Council's top priorities.
Councils across the UK are facing mounting pressure to create additional school places. The basic needs programme was created to respond to this, with funding allocated from government to support local authorities to fulfill their requirement for school place provision. On behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, Arc Partnership - alongside the Council's strategic planners - design, procure, project manage and deliver additional school places by expanding existing maintained schools, free schools or academies, and by delivering new schools.
Our teams work closely with each school and end-user clients to assess the local requirements and to support the authority to make the best decision for the local community. Whether the need for more school places arises from regeneration projects and new housing developments, or from increased demand at existing Ofsted rated Good and Outstanding schools, we're supporting growing communities across the county through extensions and new school builds.
