Scout groups across the country provide places where children can learn life skills and experience fantastic adventures, so we were really pleased to have the opportunity to support one of our local groups.
The 10th Mansfield Beaver Scouts group needed some new high-vis vests as their current ones were getting old and were all one size. This meant the smaller children were wearing vests that were too big, making it difficult when they were taking part in activities.
Buying new ones would mean dipping into funds that could be spent on activities, or fundraising specifically to buy them which would take time.

As a community focused business, with safety being a core priority, we decided to fund and provide these new vests for the children. Working with our staff uniform provider, we were able to design and produce 25 blue high-vis vests, in a range of sizes with the scout group logo on display.
Leighanne Lockyer who runs the 10th Mansfield Beaver Scouts group for children aged six to eight said:
“10th Mansfield Beaver Scouts are extremely pleased with their new high-vis safety vests kindly donated to our group by Arc Partnership. They mean a lot to the Beaver section”
The group used them for the first time at their annual Christmas Camp visit to Wheelgate Adventure Park in December. The new vests meant each child had a well-fitted vest and the group leaders could easily identify the children and keep them safe.
“A simple high-vis vest helps safeguard the young beaver scouts and allows the Arc Partnership name to be regularly visible within the communities we serve.”
Dan Maher, Managing Director, Arc Partnership
The next time the group will use the vests is when they take part in the annual NESST (Nottinghamshire Emergency Scout Support Team) hike. They’ll also use the vests to do more, safer walks in the local area.
